Another Closing
We drove by this inexpensive oriental take-out food restaurant today--Panda Express--and we were shocked to see the windows papered up! Another business has bit the dust!
The conversation these days in the Islands is the rising prices of everything from propane to gas to food to you name it. And with less tourists arriving because of the economy, business is down for everyone, including the high-priced resorts. There is a lot of belt-tightening going on!

Hi Kuanyin! Here I am for the weekly visit… ;)
I think I've seen that Panda some ten years ago; as panda's life expectancy in the wild is of 5 or 6 years and 20 to thirty in more favourable conditions, no wonder yours came to an end... ;)
The white/lobster «beef» (sinonyme for «British» in the Algarve) is also a well known character...
Nice pictures of the Wailea beaches! And finally an amazing photo for the record; but Wailea is surely much different now from what it was some ten years ago; no need to get to the nineteeth century!
Blogtrotter has now landed in the imperial town of Marrakesh, the Red City! Hope you enjoy and have a great Sunday!
I've eaten at a Panda Express before in the Washington, DC area when I lived there. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced.
Unfortunately, I think this trend is here to stay. Sadly the fuel prices are driving up the costs of everything.
By the way -- how do you make your images so beautifully large? My attempts to do so have sometimes resulted in cut off photos!

Is this one in Kihei? We just got a new one in Kahului by Walmart with a drive through..I love it!and then the one in the Kaahumanu Mall has been there forever. I hope they don't close down. It seems the one in Kihei would have been even busier in a more touristy area.
Yes, Jonara...it was in Kihei in answer to your question.
