Homeless On Maui
There are worse places to be homeless than on Maui--of that I'm sure. However, if you're homeless, Maui isn't all that bad. You can get around easily by bike.
You can sleep under a shady tree nearby the ocean.
And you can shower at many beach showers located near the main beaches.

Hi Kuanyin! Sorry for having taken so long to come back here, and today Blogger is making things difficult to me; pictures take ages to download... Anyhow, better than being homeless; even in Maui... :)
OK for the «person who was having his head rubbed», but what's the name of the tequilla shot lady? ;))
Thanks for your comment on Blogtrotter, where I’m still around Rabat, but preparing to move to Casablanca… ;))
Hope you have a great weekend!
Ahh! Life is good, even if you live outside. Neat series of photos.
You almost make it sound glamorous. ;)
It saddens me that we have people lonely and homeless. It should touch our community more than ever. It's great that you wrote a blog on the "Homeless On Maui". It's about time we talk about the growing problem instead of avoiding this topic.
Hi I don't know if you've been homeless . But I have with my kids both here and Cali. I used say the same thing- Maui is a great place to be homeless BUT I've slept on the beach plenty and no one wants to see people living on the beach near them. And the cops don't like either-I might be taking it wrong but it seemed like your glamorizing homeless here. See if you can get away with sleeping on the beach by the Kealani. Wailea. I used camp there - now my kid can't even fish the overnight. Just sayin.... Judy
Judy, it saddens me that homeless people on Maui are treated the way they are! Certainly it might be construed that I was glamorizing the homeless situation on Maui, and I'm sorry for that.Guess I was attempting to see the positives...
The saddest part is, that these people had an opportunity to do well in life, but they basically threw their life away...
Judge not lest you be Judged
For people to say the homeless are throwing their life away isnt fair.
Anyone can find themselves in this situation at the drop of a hat. With the economy the way it is many are just a paycheck away from the street.
Some people lose their jobs and have no family or friends that give a damn and they wind up on
the beach or a bench.
It can happen to you.
Yes, it happens all the time to people who never thought they too would become homeless. Sad, but true.
