F is for Flowers

Springtime has arrived on Maui as evidenced by this gorgeous Cherry Blossom tree blooming in Kula. This tree is so beautiful I had to stop and take many photos of it. The Cherry Blossom is the national flower of Japan, and it represents "more than just ascetic beauty, but also transience, melancholy, and the honor of graceful resignation."

Beautiful Spring-time blossoms. Our trees are beginning to pop too. Such a pretty time of year.

That's a beautiful picture of the cherry blossoms! The city of Macon, Georgia has a big cherry blossom festival every spring when the many planted trees there are in bloom. I've never been but pictures I've seen are fantastic.

The blossoms are delicate and lovely. The tree itself has an unusual shape.

It is still winter here in Washington, but signs of spring will soon include a patchwork of fruit orchards in bloom--the cherry blossoms a significant part of that vista.
