Almost Heaven

This is the view of upcountry Maui, Ulupalakula, from Wailea. From this vantage point, it looks verdant and heavenly....and when you travel there, it's as beautiful as it looks from down below.

Hawaii's Merry Monarch

I took this photo of a photo hanging at the Tedeschi Winery in Ulupalakua. King David Kalakaua was the last King of Hawaii and also known as the Merry Monarch because of his passion for entertainment, parties, poker, food, and champagne. You can read more about him here.

Two Images of Maui Horses

Even though it's fun to ride on horseback down the Sliding Sands trail into the crater, the recently captured photos of the horses in their trailer compared to horses at Ulupalakua Ranch speaks volumes,right?

There's simply something more beautiful about a horse that's free. I loved the 2002 animated movie "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" with catchy song titles such as "This is where I belong", and "You can't take me", and "Get off my back".
