A Day At The Beach
I usually reserve Sunday for a Day At The Beach with my daughter. It's our Mother/Daughter gab fest and catch-up in person day. We often pack food and drinks for a picnic, and we laugh, eat, swim and people watch. This past Sunday was cold! We didn't even venture into the water as it looked murky which to us means 'shark-water'. Sand kept blowing into our mouth as we laughed, but we stuck it out for a least an hour shivering in our bikinis before packing it in. We looked for whales which often blow off this particular beach. Alas, no sightings. This year has been a bad year for whale sightings, as I might have mentioned before in this blog--if not, in another blog posting. We have conjectured where have all the whales gone? Sonar? Another island? Not hanging close to shore as they usually do? We don't know, but we do know it makes us very sad to see zero whales!

Thanks for sharing your day at the beach story! Sand in the mouth sounds like no fun, but memorable. Is it whale season for you? In San Diego it is December-March.
how sad that you don't see whales anymore. i love that you and your daughter have a date every week, i hope some day to have that too, right now they are 14 and 15 and seeing them once a week sounds like a good plan (just kidding, kind of...)
