Spots and Stripes
I like the way the shadows fall in this photo of my cat Anela. She was adopted by our family as a baby, and her markings look similar to many other 'local' cats. Maui is over-run with feral cats, and these feral cats are very controversial with different methods, organizations, and ideas of how to control the wild cat population.

You are right about the shadows. Only cats seem to be able to curl up in just this particular way.
Maui is my favorite place. My husband and I had the most romantic date at Cafe Ciao there the last time we were there. There isn't a road on that island we havent' drove. Ah, memories!

Anela has most unusual but beautiful markings. She is very pretty. We have 4 cats, one of which can be found on Adelaide DP - our burmese, Sascha is up in the oak tree.
As for feral cats - they do breed so rapidly - desexing is the only way to go but then again, there is nothing like a tiny kitten whose tongue is no bigger than your little finger nail. It's a pity we couldn't keep them all!
